Trompe l’oeil literally translates from French to mean “fools the eye.” This type of painting, really honors its name. One of my favorite artists is Kurt Wenner. What you see exists, truly. How I wish I could see through his eyes…
Champagne. We love you
The buzz is unbeatable. Here are some quotes on it…
“Come quickly, I am tasting the stars!”Dom Perignon
“There comes a time in every woman’s life when the only thing that helps is a glass of champagne.”Bette Davis
“I drink champagne when I win, to celebrate… And I drink champagne when I lose, to console myself.”Napoleon Bonaparte, 18th Century French conqueror (1769 - 1873)
“Remember, gentlemen, it’s not just France we are fighting for, it’s champagne!”Winston Churchill, Prime Minister of Great Britain, (1874 - 1965)

Have you ever said, “I feel low today?” and then you catch a cold or some unwelcome disease? Well, “being low” might be just true… Check this out.

Hollywood
Living in Hollywood was a must. Even if everyone told me not to, I did. Yes, it’s smelly and not very clean but I love it! I have a blast everyday. It’s like an ongoing costume party. There’s a lady in her 70’s wearing a blonde, tall wig and infinitely long lashes. A fat Angel sitting on the floor, dirtying his wings, just being happy (at least he looks like) and a black guy playing bass in a Dr. Zeuss hat. I see them everyday and have no idea where they go and here, we all look lost…Hollywood decadence, for sure, but what I most enjoy here is the freedom of choice, anything goes…
Why beauty matters
Have you ever been to an art-gallery opening (or vernissage), as the artsy crowd likes to call them, and felt that everything you see is a pile of shit?
Of course it is an embarrassing moment, for everyone (except you) looks so interested and know-howed, but inside yourself, you wonder, “am I an uncultured and un-sensitized ignorant or is this truly bullshit?”
I’ve been there, for sure. And I believe that many times we are just being tricked by an artist’s or a gallerist’s whims.
Fortunately, I’m not the only one… Here’s a documentary on that argument by the Brit philosopher, Robert Scruton. It’s long but, if you fancy art, it’s worth it.

L.A.
I moved to L.A. six months ago and everything feels new and fresh. I find this city to be cool because its so varied. You have the ocean, the hype, craziness and seekers of any kind. Here, you can explore whatever comes to your mind. This blog is about that, about everything that comes to my mind. And you are free to share what’s inside yours…
